SUPPORTED LIVING
10
OSBORNE ROAD
10 Osborne Road is a seven bed
roomed semi-detached house on three floors. Many of the bedrooms
are en-suite and tenants are encouraged to personalise their
private space plus have a shared input into choices concerning
communal areas.
Its location offers easy access to Birkenhead and the extensive
tourist attractions of the Wirral Peninsular, Liverpool and
Chester.
There is a small rear paved area which offers a private and secure
resource in fine weather when meals are often al-fresco, making
use of the bar-b-q.
This facility operates as a supported living unit with service users
participating in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the
house, including shopping, cleaning, laundry and cooking. The
promotion of independence with support at the appropriate level
is fundamental in this unit, with staff on site 24 hours a day
to facilitate this.
Activities and outings are varied, depending on individual choice and are
geared to community interaction including attendance at keep
fit classes, ferry trips, college courses and pub outings.
A peripatetic tutor is available for those wishing to improve
their literacy skills.
The house offers a pleasant homely environment with a friendly feel
created by tenants and staff alike.
OUTREACH SERVICES
From continual assessment of our service users, the need for
semi-independent support services was identified. This service
was established for residents who demonstrated a level of independence
indicating that they no longer required 24 hour care but still
relied upon staff support at varying levels.
This service allows tenants to live in their own flats with support staff
offering daily contact and assistance.
Flats are furnished and decorated to a high standard with tenants
input where possible.
The level of support is assessed on an individual basis ranging
from 2 hours per day to 24 hour staffing if required, with a
24 hour ‘on-call’ service in operation.
Tenants are responsible for their utility charges, domestic
chores and all the usual implications of renting a property
but have staff support at a level assessed as required to ensure
that they do not encounter problems.
38 HERTFORD DRIVE
Hertford Drive operates as a supported living unit and offers accommodation
for up to 7 tenants.
Its location offers views across the River Mersey with a
pleasant promenade just 2 minutes away, leading into the
seaside town of New Brighton.
