At Daken House, we pride ourselves on being able
to offer the highest quality of care from our dedicated nursing
team, providing support over a 24 hour period.
The idea of Daken House was first conceived when
Directors and Staff visited some of the elderly within the borough
of Newham. It became clear that a nursing/residential home of
a suitable size, specification and style was needed. As a result
Daken House comprising 43 beds and enjoying the benefit of spacious,
well appointed communal areas was created which enhances the
life style of the residents with individual personal needs catered
for as if in their own home.
The building was designed by Jane Lind (Architect)
of Wadhurst, East Sussex, who has a vast knowledge of designing
suitable buildings for Nursing and Residential Homes. The end
result has produced a warm and friendly building. Time, effort
and care was spent in appointing caring staff, and the result
has been that Daken House is one of the few nursing homes within
the London Borough of Newham to be appointed as a preferred
provider. It is also registered with the Area Health Authority
and the London Borough of Newham for both Nursing and Residential
Our philosophy to care is "person centred"
which means involving residents and their loved ones from the
day of arrival and sharing the care together. What are your
favourite foods? What time do you like to get up or go
to bed? These may seem small things, but to a person in care,
they are important and help that person maintain a near to normal
lifestyle, by offering choice and retaining independence.
We look forward to welcoming you to Daken House.
