Introduction
St
Katharine's House is a community of elderly people and aims
to provide a comfortable caring home in a Christian environment
until they die. The Warden is an experienced administrator and
his deputy, the Nursing and Care Manager, is a level one registered
nurse.
The
House has accommodation for 75 residents (52 residential and
23 nursing) and lies in spacious grounds, only ten minutes walk
from the Wantage shopping centre, library and Parish Church.
The Baptist, Methodist and Roman Catholic churches are also
within easy walking distance. Each resident has her own bed-sitting
room (average area 14 sq metres) which she furnishes herself.
The rooms all have built-in cupboards and wash basins with hot
and cold water. Each room is also connected to the Nursing Wing
by means of a call-bell. There is a lift.
