Our overall aim is to provide a range of high quality, specialised, services that meet the needs of individuals.

The specific service aim is to support individuals to achieve the following dimensions of quality of life for adults with autistic spectrum disorders: -

  • Physical well-being Indicated by

    - absence of disability
  • Cognitive well-being Indicated by
    - satisfaction with life
    - positive life events
  • Material well-being Indicated by
    - absence of poverty
    - a comfortable, secure home
    - suitable transport
  • Social well-being Indicated by
    - community presence
    - choice
    - competence
    - respect
    - valued relationships

The Service will achieve these aims through the realisation of the following objectives:

  • To provide appropriate residential, vocational and educational training for men and women with autistic spectrum disorders and related conditions.
  • To provide a wide range of activities and opportunities in a high quality environment.
  • To offer residents care and support in an environment that meets the particular needs of the individuals and will include a level of supervision necessary to ensure the opportunity for personal development and safety.
  • To encourage self respect and the ability to make choices and control their own lives. S.C.C.T. believes that its clients should receive the necessary service inputs in order to enjoy the best relationship with mainstream life and should enjoy a high and healthy quality of life.
  • To promote equal opportunities by addressing the specific needs related to race, culture, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation and disability in all aspects of the service
