Introduction

Sylvan
House is a private residential home which accommodates private
or social service funded residents situated in the heart of
Prenton, Birkenhead, Wirral, ideally situated for public transport
and shops. It has been a residential home for the last 20 years.
Sylvan
House is registered for 22 beds, with Wirral social services
and is inspected at least twice yearly. Copies of inspections
can be obtained from social services or the home.
It
comprises of a three-story building with an 8-person passenger
lift. It has three easy steps to the front and a ramp to the
side. There is a main lounge, which is big and bright with a
television. If you prefer quieter moments there is a quiet lounge,
which is well stocked with books; and of course there is ones
own bedroom.

Sylvan
House offers delightful residential rooms on the ground and
first floor which residents may furnish if they so choose (space
permitting) and in line with fire regulations. Bedrooms are
big bright and airy. Residents may use their rooms at any time
during the day as well of at night. All rooms in the house are
fitted with nurse call and fire detectors.
The
Manager and his family occupy the second floor. There is also
a dinning room and kitchen, were drinks can be made at
any time of the day or night by residents or relatives when
they visit. There are no restrictions on visiting times.There
is a pay phone available to all residents.

Visiting
services: Chiropodist, Hairdresser, Optician, Physiotherapist,
Clergy
Shoppers come in weekly to buy anything that residents may require.
Outside
there is a garden and patio area, during the summer there are
plenty of patio chairs and tables, and the garden is quiet and
secluded from the road by mature trees. Quite often during the
summer we have a barbeque for those who want. There
is a choice of menu, a full time cook cooks all meals and any
variations or dietary meals can be accommodated. The emphasis
is on good home cooking.
