Philosophy
- Villa
Scalabrini and its Staff believe in assisting all its Residents
with any of their needs, however, we do believe in trying
to maintain the Residents levels of independence.
- Villa
Scalabrinis members of staff follow a rota, which means
that there are several people on duty at all times.
- In addition
there is the support of a Catholic Priest and Nuns who live
on site which is greatly appreciated by the residents and
their families.
- The Home
is Christian orientated, but it is entirely voluntary for
Residents to decide or otherwise to participate in the religious
services.
- Although
Villa Scalabrini was originally opened for the purpose of
accommodating elderly Italians, it would like to be recognised
as offering equal opportunities to all cultures, religions
and nationalities. Therefore, we welcome all individuals to
our Home, both as residents as well as members of staff.
- Villa
Scalabrini is equipped to take care of various special physical
needs. These include hoists, Parker bath/hoists, special mattresses
(ripple mattresses, etc) and Clos-o-mat toilets.
- There
is an MP/E unit, which concentrates on people suffering from
dementia, Alzheimer or Parkinsons disease.
- In addition,
there is an on call service with out local GP
and district nurse.
- Villa
Scalabrini is, therefore, able to accept people who are wheelchair
bound, people who suffer from double incontinence and diabetics
with special needs
